Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Kredl (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, and protects information about you when you use our platform at kredl.in and related services. Please read this carefully. By using Kredl, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information we collect
When you create a Kredl account, we collect information you provide directly: your name, email address, password, profile photo, and professional information such as your creative discipline, location, and portfolio content. When you use Kredl, we also collect usage data — the pages you visit, features you use, content you interact with, and the time and frequency of your activity. We collect standard device information such as browser type, operating system, and IP address. If you connect a third-party account (such as Google) for sign-in, we receive basic profile information from that service as permitted by your settings there.
2. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to: — Provide, maintain, and improve the Kredl platform — Create and manage your account — Show your profile to other users and enable you to discover other profiles — Send you platform notifications, opportunity alerts, and messages — Process applications to Drops and Collab requests — Verify professional credits and project history — Prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service — Respond to your support requests and communicate with you about your account We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Information sharing
Your public profile information — including your name, creative discipline, portfolio, and verified credits — is visible to all users of Kredl, including Enablers searching for talent. If you follow a company page, that company can see that you follow it. The number of followers a company has is public, and the people who run that company page can see the list of who follows them, including your name and profile. Unfollowing a company removes you from that list. We share information with third-party service providers who help us operate the platform (hosting, email delivery, analytics, payment processing). These providers are contractually required to use your information only to provide services to us. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public. We will notify you of such requests where legally permitted to do so. In the event Kredl is acquired or merges with another company, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Cookies and tracking
Kredl uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how you use the platform. Essential cookies are required for the platform to function. You cannot opt out of these. Analytics cookies help us understand usage patterns so we can improve the platform. You can opt out of analytics tracking in your account settings. Post and page analytics use one further cookie, kv_id, described in section 5. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or sell your data to advertisers.
5. Post and page analytics
When you view a post on Kredl, we record that view so the post's author can see how the post performed. These figures are currently shown in the management console for Kredl Pages; we record the same data for posts published by individual members. What an author can see: the number of views, unique viewers, likes, comments, shares, saves and average time spent on the post. Once a post has at least 20 unique viewers in the period shown, the author also sees a breakdown by country, device type, and the sites that referred the traffic. Below those figures, the author sees a list of the signed-in viewers who have not opted out — each viewer's name, profile photo, and when they last viewed the post. You can opt out of being named. Turn on "Hide my name from post viewer analytics" under Settings, Data privacy. Your view still counts towards every total, but your name is never shown to an author. This covers posts you have already viewed as well as future ones, because the setting is applied when the author opens the page, not when the view was recorded. If you view a post while signed out, we identify your browser with a cookie named kv_id. It holds a random, signed identifier and exists only so that one person is counted once rather than once per page load. It is not connected to your identity, cannot be read by JavaScript, is not shared with anyone, and is never used for advertising. Country and abuse detection (both for post views and for the company page visits described below): we read the IP address of the request, immediately reduce it to the surrounding network block — the first three parts of an IPv4 address, or the first three groups of an IPv6 address — and discard the address itself. The full IP address is never stored. We send the network block from our servers, never from your browser, to ipapi.is, a third-party lookup service, to learn which country it is registered in and whether it belongs to a data centre, a crawler, a proxy, a VPN, or a network with a history of abuse. We store only the country code and those flags against the network block. Views from flagged networks are kept but not counted, so automated traffic does not inflate an author's figures. Repeat-view records: alongside the individual events, we keep one record per post you have viewed. It holds an identifier for you — your account identifier if you were signed in, or the kv_id cookie identifier if you were not — together with when you first and last viewed that post and how many times you viewed it. It exists so that viewing a post twice counts you as one viewer rather than two. This record is not covered by the 90-day deletion below, is not removed or unlinked when you delete your account, and is kept for as long as the post exists; it is deleted when the post is deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner at privacy@kredl.in. Company page visits: when you open a Kredl Page — its profile, its posts tab, or its jobs tab — we record that visit so the company can see how many people reached its pages. This is recorded exactly the way post views are: the same kv_id cookie identifies your browser when you are signed out, the same reduction of the IP address to its surrounding network block is applied and the full address is likewise never stored, and the individual visit records are likewise deleted automatically after 90 days. A company sees only totals — page views per surface and the number of unique visitors. It is never shown a list of who visited its pages. Repeat-visit records: as with posts, we keep one record per company whose pages you have visited, holding the same kind of identifier together with when you first and last visited and how many visits were counted. It exists so that reloading a company's page counts you once rather than once per load. Like the per-post record above, it is not covered by the 90-day deletion, is not removed or unlinked when you delete your account, and is deleted when the company is deleted. You can ask us to delete it sooner at privacy@kredl.in. How long we keep it: individual analytics events are deleted automatically 90 days after they are recorded. The daily totals calculated from them contain no viewer identifiers and are kept for as long as the post exists. If you delete your account, the link between you and your individual analytics events is removed while the totals remain; the repeat-view records described above are the exception, and are not unlinked.
6. Data security
We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text. No system is completely secure. While we work hard to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately at security@kredl.in.
7. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or regulatory purposes, or where it is needed to resolve disputes. Some information (such as your participation in completed Collab projects that other users also participated in) may remain visible as part of their verified credits even after you delete your account. Post and page analytics have their own shorter retention period, set out in section 5.
8. Your rights
You have the right to: — Access the personal information we hold about you — Correct inaccurate information on your profile — Delete your account and personal information — Export a copy of your data — Opt out of non-essential communications To exercise these rights, visit your account settings or contact us at privacy@kredl.in. We will respond to all requests within 30 days.
9. Children
Kredl is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will terminate their account and delete their information. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at privacy@kredl.in.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent notice on the platform. The date at the top of this page reflects when the policy was last updated. Your continued use of Kredl after changes to this policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
